The video that I inserted above is a recording of me playing Cedar Valley March from Concert Band 9. Our whole band practices this piece together every other school day. In the video, I am playing the violin with a prerecording of the piece from Youtube. My goals whenever I play this piece to trying to perfect it or improve my skills compared to how I first played it.

b)

Playing this makes me proud because I love hearing how much our band improved together. Once you listen to our live playing on our Winter Concert at Pinetree, you will be able to tell how hard we worked.

c)

I personally didn’t face too many challenges on this piece, but a lot of students started playing new instruments this year and their learning affected the pace we were learning this piece. I’m glad that all of the new players improved a lot and are able to show how far they have come.

d)

I have no control over how well our band sounds, but our improvement is all thanks to Mrs. Carmichael.
