About Me

Hey there! My name is Connor, and I am a grade 9 student at Pinetree Secondary. I’m very excited to begin this year, because I believe that High School will offer many new opportunities to me that were not available in Middle School. My hobbies include playing basketball and writing, but I mostly just like to watch Netflix. Maybe you can relate.

My favorite quote is:

“A man who reads lives a thousand times before he dies. One who doesn’t lives only once.”

I love this quote because it highlights how vivid reading can truly feel. I know that I’ve read many books where it truly feel that I’m in the same world as the characters, and I’m living and breathing alongside the characters. This quote was said by a wise boy named”Jojen Reed”, a character from George R.R. Martin’s “A song of Ice and Fire”. It is but one among many memorable quotes written by the talented author. Of course, it is but one of many. Here are a few more:

“Love is a poison. A sweet poison, yes, but it will kill you nonetheless.”

“Bran thought about it. ‘Can a man still be brave if he’s afraid?’ ‘That is the only time a man can be brave,’ his father told him.”

“A ruler who hides behind paid executioners soon forgets what death is.”

“Be careful, my lady. Tyrion says that people often claim to hunger for the truth, but seldom like the taste when it’s served up.”

My favorite video is “Weather Reporter gets hit by stop sign”

This is my favorite video for three reasons:

  1. Hate yourself for it all you want, you thought it was funny.
  2. It reminds us how dangerous weather can be, and to always stay safe… rather than standing by the road in the middle of a vicious storm.
  3. I like to re-watch the video, and try to tell if it was faked or not. It seems likely to me that it was, just because of the way the reporter was speaking- usually weather reporters would remain calm, and not stand in weather so dangerous that stop signs are flying through the air. That’s just my opinion.

My favorite show in the world is “Game of Thrones”, because I love how the characters are developed throughout the eight seasons, and how the story progresses in a grim, exciting and exceptionally realistic way. (minus the dragons) Here is a picture of the poster from the final season, portraying a dark image of the iron throne, whilst also showing the face of a dragon:

The above is a link to my favorite website, with all the information one would need about Game of Thrones. I’m sure you’ve seen the show. I visit this website whenever I don’t understand an aspect of the extremely complicated show… which happens to be pretty much all of the time, with all of the different characters and families.
