OCTOBER Event – Halloween Scavenger Hunt

I made contributions to the Halloween Scavenger Hunt by informing individuals about the activity and asking them to take part. My role was to make people aware of the information about the scavenger hunt, how it worked, and what they had to do. I made sure people were aware of the rules and were eager to take part. My focus was on Communication, which reinforced course aims such as effective communication, listening actively, and team work. Before the event, I helped to prepare the scavenger hunt materials and studied the route and clues so I could clearly explain them to participants. During the event, I relayed the event information to students, answered any questions they had, and ensured they understood the rules before starting the hunt. I also prompted the students to have fun and participate in the activity. At the conclusion of the activity, I participated in a debrief with the activity committee in order to review how the activity transpired and what could be improved for next time. As evidence, I described the scavenger hunt procedure thoroughly to the participants so they could understand and they were able and encouraged to engage. I also worked with students who were having difficulty or needed clarification, exhibiting my ability to compensate for the context of communication.
