Reflection 1 – My Goals for This Year.
Transitioning from middle school to high school is difficult, which made me realize the importance of setting goals for myself. Here are my 9 goals I set for myself to achieve before next school year.
Family and Friends
- Coming from a middle school where almost all students went to a different school, it’s hard coming to high school. Seeing everybody else already be in their own friend groups, be apart of cliques, and always hanging out with each other, makes me constantly feel lonely.Ā I want and will make at least 5 friends who attend my school, and I will make at least 3 best friends who attend my school. (excluding the one I’ve already made.)
- Last year, I was the most distant from my family, by next year, I want to be the closest with my family. I want to feel significantly more comfortable with my family and spend more time with them, at least 3 family trips.
- This year, I find it hard to talk to others, or others knowing me. I want others (at least 20) to greet me in the hallway, to come up and have a conversation with me.
Education
- This year, I want to put as much effort into all my subjects as I can, what that means is that I will be spending less time procrastinating and doing my homework and studying.
- This year, I will will especially take time for math, I struggle with math, I know if I take some time to study math and put lots of effort, I will reach my goal and obtain the highest grade. (Or at least close to).
- This year, I want to not just help myself, but help others. I will tutor my friends and anyone who needs help with school subjects I am knowledgeable about. I want to help at least 5 people.
Health
- Last year, I noticed I was not living a healthy lifestyle, this year, I realized the importance of taking care of your body, I will consistently work out at least three times a week, I will try to eat healthier, meaning I won’t eat as much sweets and packaged/processed foods, instead I will eat food that is homemade and has every part on the nutritional food plate. (grains, protein, fruits and vegetables.)
- This year, I want to prioritize my mental health over most things in my life. I want to be independent with myself and take time to care about me instead of others, I will stay home more often, take walks, and be alone more often to the point I will feel comfortable being alone.
- This year, I will be my own person, I will mature and be a humble person, I will use my time this year to maintain my healthy lifestyle, attend church and heal my relationship with God, prioritize my mental health, and have a sense of my true identity. I will find out more things about me, love myself, and create the person who I am.
