Reflection 1 – My Goals for This Year

Goals

These are some of my goals for this school year, in the categories of Family and Friends, Education, and Health.

 

Family and Friends

1.

I would like to meet a friend this school year. I would5c8c61 like to complete this goal so that I have someone to hang out with and talk to at lunch. It will also help me be more social at school. I will do this by joining a club and trying to meet as many people as possible.

2.

I am making a website for my mom, and I would like to finish it by this winter break. My mom will love it and it might look good on my resume. I want to try my very best on it. I will spend as much time as I can trying to make it as good as possible.

3.

I want to be more helpful at home by making dinner at least three times a week by the end of this semester. It will help me get better at cooking and make things easier for my family. Hopefully they also like my cooking. I’ll try to find new recipes that are easy and delicious that I can make on weeknights or weekends.

Education

1.

I want to be able to read a 500 page book in two weeks. It will help me in English class and every other class where I have to read from a textbook. I would like to be able to do this by grade 10. I will practice reading at home for pleasure to improve my reading speed.

2.

I want to stay organized by having a schedule for each day so that I know when everything is due by the end of this semester. In high school, there can be lots of assignments at once, so it’s important to remember everything. I usually am good with due dates, but as the work ramps up it could be harder to remember. I will create a schedule and put everything in it to get into the habit of using a schedule.

3.

I want to be able to keep my locker, binder, backpack, and pencil case, organized and clean by the new year. This is useful so that I can easily find everything I need, which means I can work faster. I am going to start with my desk at home to try to get into the habit of organizing, then try to clean out everything else.

Health

1.

I want to learn how to make healthy snacks at home. Right now, I make a lot of cookies, brownies, and other unhealthy foods. I want to learn how to make some healthy but delicious foods by the end of this semester. I will research some low-calorie snacks that are still delicious and then learn how to make them.

2.

I would like to find a sport that I like to play by grade 10. This could help me go outside more and get more exercise. I will start by researching some sports and learning about them so that I can see what all the options are, then try playing them and see what sticks.

3.

I want to try to find a healthy snack that I can get from the store by this winter break. This will help me stay healthy and eat less greasy and salty foods like potato chips. I will go to the grocery store and see what stands out to me, then try it and see if I like it.
