My partner learned that language is a very broad term which can include both written and oral traditions. In addition, this unit allowed her to reflect on how language shapes her thoughts and allows her to express her emotions. For example, through drawing she can express her mood and through writing she can bring her ideas in one place for readers to understand. From talking to her, I realized that the TedTalks broadened her vision on how language affects our perspective on the world. It is similar between us that we both think that voice-to-text is not always a reliable method for communicating because it can misinterpret the real message being sent. Based on the work I have done in this unit, I do gravitate with my partner about our idea on languages and how it affects us. However, my partner further demonstrated her opinion in her work, which makes their presentation change how I view my assignment.
