Reflection
1.) Health
For health, I have three pictures: a woman walking, a forest, and a bed. These all relate to health because my favourite way of getting exercise is going on nature walks and hikes. I find those both very good ways of not only going outside to get fresh air and vitamin D, but also also practicing mindfulness. Whenever I get overwhelmed, I like to go out for a walk. The bed image is there because getting good quality sleep is also very important to me. I like sleeping, and I do it every night. It’s necessary to have sufficient sleep to function, because without it people can struggle in their waking life.
2.) Education/ Wealth
For education/ wealth, i have images of a book, a typewriter, and the UBC logo. These images are significant because I love reading and writing. English has always been my strong subject throughout my school years, and took English Honours in grade 9 (and again in grade 10), and I would love to go into a career where I can write for a living, like a journalist or author. UBC is a university that I am definitely considering going to in the future, because I want to go to a university and UBC is a very good school that happens to be close.
3.) Relationships
For relationships, I have pictures of a movie theatre, shopping bags, and two friends making a heart with their hands. The last one is self explanatory, but the other two require a more in depth explanation. The shopping bags represent going out to different malls and stores, while the theatre is just itself. These two things are my go-to things to do with my friends when I want to hang out with them. Despite always spending money when I do them, I always have fun, which is the most important thing. I’m not a terribly extroverted person, but I have lots of friends, and I’m pleased with the strong bonds I have with them.
4.) Happiness
For happiness, most of my favourite activities were in the other categories (ie the walks, writing, reading), but I added two more pictures for this section. An image of someone drawing and an archery target. Why? That’s because I like drawing (I did take visual arts 9, after all) and I would consider art a hobby of mine. I’m not a very sporty person, and the one sport that I actually do outside of school is archery (hence the target image), which I not only enjoy, but am quite proficient at.
