Winter Formal

For this year’s winter formal, I helped in two parts:

  1. Creating decorations after school (volunteer, an hour – 3:10-4,)
  2. Decorating the school for the winter formal prior to the event (3:10-6, December 14th)Β This was an interesting experience, mainly because I didn’t have a set job – I was just helping out wherever needed, whether that was holding a piece of tulle, creating a cardboard board for the photo room, or sticking stars all over walls. It was an interesting experience – especially because of the nerves that everyone had, and the pressure to make everything look good while also doing it quickly.

Gr. 9 Day

Note: I (unfortunately) don’t have any photo evidence of this event.

During grade 9 day, myself (along with Horace) were assigned to hold the signs and direct students to the side of the library they had to get their snacks from. I did this until no more students were entering, and then I joined Lanna as the background singers for Horace’s wonderful rendition of “California Gurls.”

Halloween

For Halloween I was the Point Person for Marketing and Promo. I communicated with the other groups, I delegated tasks to my group members, and I also recorded announcements. I also helped with decorating for Halloween and decorating the Boo-Grams bulletin board.

On the actual day of Halloween I walked around with Morgan and Lanna and handed out the tickets for the costume contest draw.

Spirit Assembly

For this year’s spirit assembly, I was officially part of the Marketing and Promotion team. As per my duties, I wrote and recorded the announcement for the Spirit Assembly.

For the actual assembly, I was part of Station Crew, and I was at the Sac Race part of the course, where I explained the rules to the people who came to me.

Apart from my obligatory duties, I also assisted the Hype Crew by hyping up the people who did the obstacle course (see the pictures below) and cheering until I lost my voice. I also noticed that the first loading into the gym wasn’t as smooth as it could have been the first time, so the second time I stood on the bleachers and assisted with loading and directing the grade 9s and 10s to their designated spots.

All in all, it was a successful Spirit Assembly, and I’m proud of myself and the work that I did.
