Family and Friends

  1. I would like to spend more time with my dad. My dad never had time for me because he would work long hours and come back late. I want to spend more time with him by doing his hobbies like gaming and driving every weekend if possible. I feel that going out to dinner with my whole family once every two weeks would help, too.
  2. I want to reduce the amount of fights I have with my sister this year. The reason why is that it happens every day, which means I will have at least a little dose of negativity every time I wake up to see the day. I will achieve this goal by learning more about what she likes and giving it a chance. Being more kind and honest with her every day hopefully brightens our relationship.
  3. Spending more time and taking better care of my geckos is what I want to achieve this year. Both of my crested geckos are nocturnal, so I wouldn’t see them move that much during the day. That is why I will stay up a little late, around eight every two days, so I can water their cages and bring them outside to get air. I will also use my time more wisely for homework so I can have time to spend time with my geckos.

 

Education

  1. One of my education goals this year is to get lots of volunteer hours. Even though I have just started high school and am very new to everything, volunteering was one of the reasons why I was excited about coming to Pinetree. I will achieve this by asking staff at the community center for a position so I can volunteer during my free time. I will also join many clubs that do activities based on helping people or the environment since clubs with these activities give you a good amount of hours.
  2. Improve my skills for word problems in math. I would like to get better at word problems because when I first learned word problems, my English wasn’t the best. I feel that it affected my skill for word problems because my English understanding skills were not the best either, and now that I have gotten way better, I would like to use this chance to improve on a math skill I struggled with. I will pay more attention to what each word means and how it can form an equation during the lessons and study more thoroughly during this unit.
  3. I wish to participate more in PE classes. I don’t like PE, and I used to barely try during activities in middle school. But now that I think about it, it’s still not an excuse not to try, so this year, I will participate more during PE by effectively listening to what my PE teacher says and trying to make more friends during that class so my experience for PE won’t be too bad.

Well-being/Health

  1. Get rid of lots of weight this year. I would like to lose at least 10kg this year because I have sometimes break downs where I feel very insecure about myself, feeling like Im too fat to follow fashion trends or even belong with others in school. I really want to stop those breakdowns and lose lots of weight. I will achieve this my setting a schedule where I do 50-60 sit ups everyday and work very hard during martial art lessons, if for some reason my motivation disappears I will write a note on my door that saids “no pain no gain” HOPEFULLY that will motivate me in some way.
  2. I would like to lower my screen time this year. I specifically wanting to lower my screen time to 2 hours a day, I want to do this because I have noticed that my screen time had a part to play for my insecurities and the amount stress I get from procrastinating. I would really like to stopĀ  procrastinating and getting jealous of others on social media. To achieve this I will tell my mom to a set a schedule for me and do my homework extra early so all the work can take up my free time, if I don’t have any work I will study. This will work because my mom will be very excited and I know that during high school homework will be much harder.
  3. I would like to get more than 8 hours of sleep everyday this year. I want to sleep more effectively because all the work since I came into high school has took a negative toll on my sleep schedule, with my lack of sleep I can barely focus and move around during mornings. I will fix my sleep schedule by sleeping early; like around 8 or 9pm and set a alarm for when to wake up so I don’t oversleep. I will also sleep a lot more during the weekends since those two days are the big chances to sleep well and rest.
