Reflection 1- My Goals For This Year

Family and friends:

1. My first goal is to spend more time with my family. It’s been a little tough adjusting from the work I recieved from middle school to high school now. Through all of the homework and studying, I want to maintain a relationship between me and my parents, doing fun activities like cooking together, watching a movie, and having picnics.

2. My second goal is to communicate with my relatives more often. Since they live so far, it’s hard to visit them every year. I want to still be able to talk with them and keep in touch. I can do this by calling them on my phone, and also FaceTiming them.

3. My third goal is to get closer with all of my friends. I’ve met so many new people in high school, and I want to be able to have connections with them and get closer. Some ways I can accomplish this goal is to call and talk more often, and hang out together outside of school.

Education:

1. My first goal is to keep my grades up. The transition between middle school to high school is a little hard for me, especially because of the workload and tests I have to study for. I have a lot of core subjects that assign lots of homework and quizzes, so it definitely hasn’t been easy. As much as it’s hard to keep up sometimes, I do want to keep my grades at a proficient level. Finding a balance between school and extra curriculars will be something I’ll be trying to do this school year.

2. My second goal is to get my work done efficiently. Sometimes it’s hard not to procrastinate and not get your work done until the last minute. As much as it’s a way to block out the work, it’s only temporarily a benefit. To try and achieve this goal, I’m going to try and get my work done as soon as I have the time to, and block out any distractions that might pull me away from focusing.

3. My third goal is to create helpful study habits. I want to find study habits that help and work for me, so that I can make the most out of my studying time. Consistent study routines can help me get rid of poor time management and can also help me prioritize what needs to get done.

Health:

1. My first goal is to stay on top of my mental health. School can be a stressor, so I want to make sure that I never get too overwhelmed or stressed with anything. I can also practice healthy habits, like drinking lots of water and making sure I do have parts of my day where I can just relax.

2. My second goal is to spend less time on my phone. Without being and scrolling on it all the time, I’ll be able to get more things done during the day and spend less time procrastinating and be more productive.

3. My third goal is to get more sleep. I don’t have the best sleep schedule, so I’m working on going to bed earlier during the weekends and weekdays. This’ll ensure that I can go to school everyday feeling more energized and less tired throughout the school day.
