My Favourite food has to be either pickles or potatoes. Potatoes are also my favourite food as they can be cooked in any form. You can fry them, mash them, bake them, boil them, roast them. With, if a disaster was supposed to happen, I recommend getting potatoes as you can have them in different ways and feel like your eating different items when really they were all potatoes.

“Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant, filled with odd waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don’t always like.” – Lemony Snicket

I think that the reason I really love this quote is that sometimes in life, you don’t always get what you want or wish for. You might get something very similar or something completely different than what you had hoped for. Somedays, you might get exactly what you wanted and other days everything seems to go wrong. From this, I believe that everything happens for a reason and in saying this, maybe the bad days are just to make the good days even better. In saying this, it’s like a restaurant that brings you what you didn’t order or things that you don’t like. Also, I find that the author Lemony snicket to be very poetic and dark with his quotes and metaphors and his Series of Unfortunate events happens to be one of my favourite book series.

My favourite genre of music would have to be R &B / Rap/ Hip Hop. Though I am also open to other types of music as long as it is not country. Country is one of the genres of music that I very much dislike. Some of my favourite artists are Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, Bryson Tiller, J.Cole, Sza and HER.

Frank Ocean often talks about his sense of loneliness throughout his music. This allows for many of his listeners to relate to what he is singing about. Metaphors are also often used in his music, this just means that people are going to have to look even deeper for the true meaning. Substances and money are also brought up a lot in his music. His music is often mellow, and slow temped in order for people to really understand his vibe. Overall, I feel that Frank Ocean’s, Channel Orange to me is a masterpiece. The entirety of the album creates a certain vibe I can’t even pinpoint and each song is written with careful meaning. He is often seen pushing boundaries in the music industry and he isn’t afraid to explore different types of music. transcends a certain genre you might want to box him in and he blurs the line. And then on to the storytelling and songwriting. He is one of the few artists that are making music only for them to express themselves rather than the money. This, as a result, I can imagine leaves him very vulnerable which perhaps may be the reason why he is so media-shy.

Nights explain the story of the highs and lows he faced while dating. It also talks about the events Frank faced while living in Houston after Hurricane Katrina. The tone of the song is very mellow and dark suggesting the relationship.

Visit Frank Ocean’s Website

I always tend to look on his website as I feel it provides very aesthetic photography that he took himself as well as any hints or reminders for new music or projects he’s working on. Plus he uploads really cool abstract art on there as well as merch in which is almost always sold out.

This image gives me the vibe of a summer night in the city. When  I look at it, I can imagine walking around the city with my friends and feeling the cool summer breeze hit me. I could also start to imagine it being near midnight and the sky is now pitch black. Even though it is dark outside, the city is lit up adding the feel of a never-ending day. The city never sleeps. Loud music could be heard from each street. People are seen to be walking on the streets even though it maybe  2 am. From this, I really love the whole vibe of growing up in the city and having the ability to go and walk around with your friends in the middle of the night.
