Spirit Assembly

For the Spirit Assembly on September 18th, I was a part of the Hype Crew. This role was to hype up the crowd and to gather energy from them. For the first part of the assembly my friends and I just stood in the crowd trying to hype people by dancing to the music.

There was some confusion about where each grade was supposed to sit so that took up some time. As the assembly started, we continued to hype people up by tossing candy out or by being energetic. For tug of war, I had to pick a few people to come down, but it was slightly chaotic because a bunch of people thought I chose them. I’d say the first part of the assembly was a bit hectic, but we managed.

For the second part of the assembly, it was more organized. We had people stand in the center of the bleachers to section off the two grades and there was better time management. For this event, I focused on communication with others, something I mentioned about achieving in my course goals. I understand that communication is an essential skill to have to make things go smoothly and effectively. Due to the spirit assembly being such a fast-paced event, communication was key, and I made sure to use this skill to ensure there was no more confusion. To summarize, this year’s spirit assembly was successful.
