Having effective goals for grade 9 is considered valuable. This is my first experience at Pinetree, and I would like to focus on more advantages rather than solemn categories. I will focus on the nine goals in three different sections this year.
1) Family and Friends: My first goal for my family and friends is to cooperate and share interests that we like. Socializing is a massive part of relationships, even for parents. My top example would be to tell them about my courses, the teachers I enjoy with, my passions, hobbies, and the club events I participated in! It can also be about events or other extracurricular activities. My activities are guitar lessons, chemistry club, and bass lessons! This priority will also be established with my friends, as each person will explain their schedule to get involved. My parents and friends were always curious and puzzled about my daily life from middle school to current. The main question I got the most was who I sat with during lunch. Therefore, I think it is not a problem to socialize our activities. It will grow a rapid relationship and technical appearance.
The 2nd part of my goal is only for my family; showing proficient grades to prove I worked hard and productively. I want to achieve at least outperforming marks in half of my classes. The classes include Mathematics, Science Honours, Japanese, and Social Studies. This, however, does not only apply to my overalls as a mark. I also want to demonstrate my hard work and struggles to show my efforts. My parents are very kind and warm-hearted, but I will still try to surpass my limits whether it is practicing, discipline, reviewing, or even lessons. I tend to get emotional when people cheer me up even if I am struggling. I want to pay back that moment by trying as hard as I can for their hopes to deserve better. One example comes from my middle school math test, where I got a proficient because I lacked effort. My mom supported me all the time, but I was strengthened by the idea that I needed to show a difference. The outturn was that I got extending on most of my marks, which proved my discipline and ambition. As years pass by, I hope I can also show the difference for the future of Pinetree.
My 3rd goal is only for my friends. I want to be generous and helpful toward each other. I have experienced most of my friends being left out during lunch breaks or even any periods. This also applies to Discord, WhatsApp, and Snapchat voice/video calls. I feel awkward to be in that situation, as sometimes I even texted my influenced friends if they were okay. I look forward to letting them get involved with joy, friendship, and teamwork. The strategy for this goal is to settle with each other when we have a conflict. Outside the work environment, I plan to invite outsiders to communicate such as in the library, cafeteria, or even shared courses! This also relies on work environments such as homework, projects, or daily assignments! This idea came from all the friendships, where my friends and I usually go to the Coquitlam Centre every Friday.
2) Education: My first goal for education is to be positive about my academic progress. I am a very pessimistic person such that any marks I get below my expectations make me anxious. This situation also goes for preparation, as anxiety ruins the energy of my focus. Although most universities do not check your grade 9, I still worry about the overalls for the report card. My solution to this obstacle is trying not to compare. Usually, I get jealous whenever someone gets a better score than me. Another strategy is listening to music. I usually listen to J-pop, rock, metal, or Lofi beats at home to feel happy. This suggests that I should bring earbuds to my school and listen to music in great sensation whenever I can.
2nd goal is to find my career passions. Specifically, what academic achievements do I need to require or already require to fulfill my ambitions? This is a bit early to think about my career goals, but I highly think planning future events promptly is a great opportunity. My career passion is to become a doctor, specifically a gastroenterologist. Since doctors learn diverse medical fields such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and residency training, I would focus more on science courses or even honors classes to get prepared. If that is for higher grades, I will learn from online sources such as YouTube, Google, or even textbooks for better understanding.
3rd goal is to find my weaknesses and demolish them. This is the category I always had trouble with; from the start of Pinetree, I did not focus on my risks! Especially during Mathematics 9 Honours, I lost marks since some problems had me unaware of what I was doing. My method is to find out why it is my weakness. Moreover, I will always review a specific stretch I need to work on. Fortunately, this only happened for my Mathematics 9 Honours class. As a result, this is the quickest goal to achieve for education.
3) Health: My first health goal is to sleep as early as possible. My sleep schedule has been agonized by the amount of social media I watch every night. This addiction came from Pinetree Elementary, as this is also the reason why I wear glasses. To fix this issue, I will set up a routine where I drink more water. Concisely, I will drink half of my weight converted to liters, so it will not be too much or less. Since water has a huge impact on our mental cycle, it will restore energy consumption and activate fuels to keep us active. This method will also keep me hydrated during any period of the day. Aside from hydration, I will try to shut down my phone so it won’t allow me to enable it back. Not only that, but I will put the phone far away from me so that my laziness will keep hesitating to reach the phone.
My second health goal is to maintain a stable diet. This might sound too early, but keeping proportional nutrition might save me for the future. I will create a rule, where I can only consume junk food on Saturdays and Sundays. This includes ice cream, cookies, biscuits, or any other desserts/unhealthy foods you know. These events are also called “Cheat Days,” where people can rest and eat whatever they want before continuing their health. While that happens, I will eat healthy and precise meals every week. This goes for lots of mineral-based nutrition such as meat, fish, salad, chicken breasts, vegetables, rice, tofu, soy milk, and fruits. I feel like eating too much junk food even at a young age will risk health every day. I will gain more weight, and my blood pressure including cells will corrupt. All these foods I listed contain components of carbohydrates, proteins, and a bit of fat. As you know from science, these macronutrients are essential for human anatomy, as energy is fueled and cycled.
Finally, my third health goal is to walk a lot. Although I walk and sometimes jog multiple variations of time, it gives me an instinct I can do better. I always walk back home from Pinetree, which takes about twenty minutes. I will walk or jog around remote places I know for a maximum of four hours. It could have been more, but homework and projects have created tension for me to go any further. I will set up a timer and count streaks of how much I have been outside. As a result, it will take me about 7:00 P.M. to arrive home and continue on my course assignments. I chose this as my health goal since I wasn’t very athletic. The four-hour walking will boost my respiratory system, and also the blood circulation every day. My parents usually travel a lot in the woods or cities, so this goal will help with physical activities such as hiking, running, skiing, and others. This resolution can also benefit speed, integrity, and motion. I believe that this goal will allow me to lose weight and work faster in an efficient way.
