About the Site

To reflect the nature of the site’s content, Canadiana | A Series of Speculations was designed with the same conjecturing atmosphere while making all resources accessible. The black and whites of the images before hovering, and then the burst of colour right before selecting that article resembles the little we really see and understand about ourselves until we are about to express how we truly feel. Furthermore, the essay icons alternate with word headers to picture titles, vividly emphasizing the crucial importance of how both literate and artistic aspects of Canadiana equally contribute to encouraging depth of thought, understanding of human relationships, and the acceptance that ultimately, these expressions are incomparable to reality.

About the Author

From Pinetree Secondary School, Kate created this site for her AP English 11’s class’ traditional Canadiana Project. With former years having gathered a similar number of Canadian non-fiction, fiction, poetic, short story, and visual artworks and having put together one large essay, this 2019-2020 class was given an exciting and new opportunity to analyze the Canadiana texts through several inter-referencing essays that would be structured as the student pleased. As this unprecedented method of the project has educated students and teachers alike in how presentations work online, the class hopes that it pioneered a valuable medium for future generations.
