Using the Creative Fluency
Our project from English class was short stories. We made stories in class and we presented them after we finished writing them.
IDENTIFY
In order to get a good mark in this assignment I needed to follow the criteria our teacher gave us. We needed to have the size 12 font, it needed to be double spaced, and it needed to be at least 1 page long. I struggled with knowing how to double space and I struggled with having proper punctuation and grammar since I do not know the English rules and it was hard making a long story to have more than one page. This is a short story of my dream.
INSPIRE
Sidney Crosby was the one to inspire my dream and my story. He is a famous hockey who plays in the NHL and is one of the best hockey players in that league. its inspirational to me because I want to be a good hockey player that plays in the NHL just like the character in my story did. In my story I want to be just like the kid who got better and better every day and became one of the greatest hockey players to ever live.
INTERPOLATE
There are also other hockey players that have good quality that I could have chosen as my inspiration and I need to compare their skills and their positions in hockey. Their work habits and their success.
IMAGINE
After i finished my short story rough draft i had my teacher look over it to see what i need to make it better. After he gave me my story back i made the good copy and fixed all my mistakes and it ended up being a good story.
INSPECT
After everything was done I checked if I did everything right. After I checked and everything was good our teacher said we needed to present in front of the class. Then he marked our work and we were done with short story’s.
Luke’s Big Dream
Hockey is one of the greatest sports ever. This is a story about a little kid named Luke whose dream was to play in the NHL. He started playing hockey when he was 5 and he is 10 right now. It was then when he decided he wants to play hockey all his life and he wanted to play pro. There was a problem with Luke’s family. He was a family of three, Himself, his mother and his father. The problem was that his family was that they didn’t have too much hockey. So Luke barely play hockey because his parents couldn’t afford for him to play high level hockey ad they couldn’t put him into extra hockey camps because they were too expensive. Luke decided that he would practice on his own so he built himself a mini hockey rink with fake ice on the ground and h also saved money for himself to buy his own hockey net in his backyard and he played hockey every day. He also worked out every day to get stronger and faster. When Luke was around 15 he had his draft year for the WHL and the BCHL. He got invited to play for the Coquitlam Express and played hockey for them until he was 18. He got around 90 points for the Express. He got an award for being player of the year. After when he was too old to play in the BCHL he got a bunch of college offers because he was a really good hockey player and he did really well in school. He got a 200,000$ scholarship to Boston college and Boston university. He played hockey for the Boston team and was named the best player in college hockey. He was a very successful hockey player and a very successful student. He had the best grades in his whole class. After when he was 22 he got invited to the draft of the NHL. Luke’s draft year was supposed to be in 2025. During the draft he was picked first round 3 overall which is really good. He got drafted the Pittsburgh penguins and became one of their top rookies. Luke became rookie of the year in the NHL and became one of the best on his team and one of the best in the NHL. After a couple years his team hasn’t won a Stanley cup until 2025 Luke scored the winning goal in the Stanley cup finals and he won his first Stanley cup. After he won the Stanley cup his pay raise went up from 4 million a year to 11 million a year. He became MVP of the year which means most valuable player. After a couple year Pittsburgh’s best player Sidney Crosby retired and Luke became the best player on the team and he became captain. After a couple years Luke carried his team to four more Stanley cups. Luke had five Stanley cup rings at the end of his carrier and became one of hockey’s best. He also was in the hockey hall of fame and was up there with the best player in the NHL Wayne Gretkzy. After Luke retired at the age of 40 and he had so much money that he didn’t need to find another job. Luke had around 150 million in his bank account that all he needed to do the rest of his life was rest. Luke fulfilled his dream by playing pro hockey and not having to sit at a desk till he was 60. Luke proved to everyone that if u put in effort and you work hard something will always come out of it. Luke also had I his own quote which was “hard work pays off”. After some years when Luke was around 78 he died of old age and he knew that he lived his dream life and that he wanted everyone to full fill their dreams. Everyone knew Luke has a hockey legend.
