I worked with Paul Cho in the summer to give the international students that will be attending Pinetree in the following year a detailed tour of the school. We also provided them and their parents with a variety of information including the schedule, the office, and where they can find help.

I believe that I deserve a grade of 86-90 for leadership because I have actively participated and helped out in many projects at the start of the year, including being a point person for the Halloween event. I have attended all meetings, or have been excused due to conflicts in my schedule. However, towards the end of the year, my focus on this course has been affected by the workload from other classes. This includes not participating enough in events and not submitting assignments on time. Besides my participation in the school, I have also been involved in the local community through the Interact Club, which I have been a member of since grade 10. I understand that my participation and assignment submissions have not been the best so far, however,  I am willing to step up and be more involved in the second semester and make sure to submit all my assignments on time.

In the second semester, I want to focus on becoming more actively involved in events and contributing more ideas within group settings. I recognize that in the past, I may have been hesitant to take initiative or go beyond my assigned tasks when I am not the leader. However, moving forward, I want to make a conscious effort to contribute to the group’s efforts more even when I am not in a leadership role. Besides  expanding my involvement in the school community by just participating in events assigned by my teachers. I  also want to look for opportunities to help out around the school and make a positive impact in any way that I can. This will not only benefit the school community but also allow me to grow as a person.

In comparison to myself at the start of the year,  I can see a significant improvement in my leadership skills, especially through becoming the Point Person in the Halloween event. Last year,  I was just a participant, completing my assigned tasks while watching my teachers lead the event. However, now I find myself in a closer position to my past teachers, taking on a greater role in organizing events. Through leading the Halloween Event, I have learned the importance of not only considering my own perspective but also that of my group members and every participant. I have become more aware of the different needs and expectations of everyone involved, and have gained a better understanding of how to effectively lead a team to successful event planning. Overall, this experience has been a valuable learning opportunity for me, and I look forward to continuing to improve my leadership skills in the future.

As I look back on my experiences as a leader, I can see a clear progression in my abilities and understanding of what it means to be a successful leader. One of the biggest areas in which I have grown is in my ability to organize and plan events.

In the past, I was content to simply participate in events and follow the lead of others. However, as I have taken on more responsibility and taken on the role of Point Person, I have come to realize the importance of considering every aspect of an event and not just my own individual role. This has taught me the value of attention to detail and the importance of considering the perspectives and everything that is involved.

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned as a leader is the ability to overcome challenges and continue to improve. I have found that through taking on a larger role and assuming more responsibility, I have been able to learn from my mistakes and grow as a leader. I believe that this ability to learn from failure and improving accordingly is one of the most important traits a leader can possess and will ultimately lead to success.

I have also been able to contribute not only as a leader but also a participant in various events and initiatives around the school. When I am a participant, I make sure to be approachable and ready to offer my assistance for any role that my Point Person assigns me. As once being the leader myself, I understand the importance of being a helpful participant as this is the least I can do to help to alleviate the stress of my Point Person and make the event run more smoothly. Outside of leadership, I am always willing to help my peers or new students with any questions they might have.

Overall, I am proud of the progress I have made as a leader and am excited to continue to grow and develop my abilities in the future.
