The project I am using for this assignment is a folder I decorated for my Japanese 9 class. It required us to decorate the cover of an envelope, and it should be about ourselves. I can’t upload a picture of what it looks like because I handed it in, and I never got it back. I am sorry for not being able to show a picture of my work.
Identify:
This project needed us to draw a cover on a folder. The cover should include four things about ourselves. Then we have to write the four things in Japanese and label them beside the drawings we drew. The hard part of this assignment was I found it challenging to think of four things that can represent me. I also have to make sure that the colour of each drawing matches. I had a hard time deciding what to draw for the four things.
Inspire:
I tried to get ideas by asking my friends and family members what things that best represent me are, they told me to draw my interests and hobbies. I went on Pinterest for more art ideas, and I saw a lot of artists presenting themselves through art by drawing out what they liked and were passionate about.
Interpolate:
After collecting different ideas and advice from people and sites, I started to notice the similarities of those artworks I saw on various Most of them have unique elements that clearly shows what the artist likes and what they are passionate about.
Imagine:
Finally, I decided on the four things I’m drawing. They are Anime, snacks, Japanese culture, and sky. For Anime, I drew a few of my favourite characters. On the Japanese culture part, I drew some traditional things from Japan and used red as the main colour theme. Snacks and sky were easier than the first two. I searched for pictures of Japanese snacks on google and got some ideas from the picture. For the sky, I drew the view outside my window.
Inspect:
In the end, I checked if I missed any details for the art. I also checked if I wrote any Japanese word wrong. This project helped me with my creativity and problem-solving skills. I am pleased with the result.
