About Me

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am a student attending Pinetree Secondary. One of my hobbies is to compose music and play the piano. I started to learn piano at age of five, and I have been playing since then. Although I stopped the lessons after completing the RCM level 8 piano and theory, I still love to play the piano during my free time. I have composed a couple of songs over the years, but I haven’t yet published or recorded. It’s still on one of my to-do lists! I can also play other musical instruments such as the guitar. I learned to play it by ear. Once you’ve learned piano, you’d be surprised how easy it is to play or learn other instruments. Therefore, I learned how to play the guitar pretty well and fast by myself! However, I am the best at the piano! One of my other hobbies is baking. A couple of my favorite treats I to bake are brownies and chocolate chip cookies. They are so simple to make and taste delicious! The best part of baking is eating the food while it’s freshly made.

I have come across a lot of good quotes over the years but one of my all-time favorite quotes is from CS Lewis. He says,

“You cant go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending” ~ CS Lewis

This quote is important to me because it teaches me that the past is the past. Whatever mistakes we’ve made, we can’t go back and undo them. Instead, we can make a change in the future from our mistakes, and to do better next time. Our past doesn’t determine our future. Learning from our mistakes and make better choices are far more important than being stuck in the past.

As I continue, I want to share my favorite video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXWZSpr9XFo

This video is a 3 -ingredient recipe for making brownies. This is my favorite video for many reasons. Firstly, my family and friends love the brownies from this recipe. Secondly, it is so easy to make with only a few steps to follow. I’ve never tasted any other brownies better than this one!  Lastly, the brownies are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside when they are done.

The image below is one of my favorite images. I like it because we are constantly busy with our daily tasks that we don’t notice the small things such as nature or sunset. Our minds are so focused on work, school, or technology, we never take the time to look around and appreciate the creation. Looking at this picture reminds me of simple things such as watching the sunrise/sunset or even a walk in the forest sometimes is good for us, and there is a lot more to life than the tasks we have to do daily.

Finally, a website that I visit often is the following website where you can find millions of recipes. It’s called Allrecipes. I enjoy visiting this website because it gives you easy to understand baking/cooking instructions for the food you want to make. This website has been very useful to me when I want to make some special treats for my family and friends! It also includes a checklist of all the ingredients you need to make the food,  which is very helpful because once I have the ingredients, I can check them off the list!
