What is my assignment?

The assignment that I chose as an example for the creative fluency was from my socials 9 in quarter 4. This assignment is called “Characters of the French Revolution Hockey Cards Project”. I had to make hockey cards about people who played an important role during the French Revolution. I chose 5 different “players” who are Madame Roland, Rousseau, Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie Antoinette, and Max Robespierre.

Identify:

To make this assignment successful, I had to understand what kind of role they played, and why they were so important during the French Revolution. I had to do a lot of research, and understand what kind of impact they had on other people and the future. This was important because I had to write 3 different main points about why they were so famous, and I had to be specific and accurate. The challenges and struggles while doing this assignment was making my hockey cards look neat, colourful, and making it look appealing.

Inspire:

I gathered inspiration for this assignment by searching actual hockey cards to see the designs and the way they organised the information about each players. I also asked my classmates and compared each other’s hockey cards. I looked at many summaries about what they did and who they were, and I just changed it into my own words to make them different and unique. I also researched about their relatives and people who were connected to see if I could gather more information from there.

Interpolate:

I realised that they all had positive and negative effects, so it was hard for me to narrow it down to 1-2 sentences per each point. They mostly got guillotined for being ignorant, but the reasons were all different and unique. To put them into small sentences, I had to think about the most necessary parts, and try to think like them to understand why they took that action. I realised that they all killed many people, but also had great impacts to the history.

Imagine:

I took 5 Q-cards and started writing their names on the top. But I froze after because I wasn’t sure on what to do after. Then I went to google and looked back at the hockey cards one more time. After, I printed out pictures of each one of them, and I started to add some drawings around it to make it look nice and neat. I wrote down the informations on the back of the Q-card just like the hockey cards.

Inspect:

Lastly, I went over my hockey cards to make sure that I didn’t make any mistakes, and read over the criteria sheet and the rubric to make sure that I was fitting in the expectations. Then I finished my assignment by adding colour to them. While looking back at my assignment, I noticed how much effort I put into this assignment. I would definitely use these 5I’s for my future assignments and reflect on myself with it again. A few changes that I would make are writing bigger, doing more research, and adding more designs to the hockey cards since it has a lot of blank spaces at the moment.
