About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I am a Grade 9 student in Pinetree, as you probably know.

A few of my hobbies include volleyball, writing, and an appreciation of obscure death metal. The man pictured is not me, nor my father, nor my grandfather.

The man pictured is Ely Buendia, lead singer of Eraserheads, a famous and prolific rock band from the Philippines. They are probably the most famous filipino band out there, any pinoy will know their name. I, personally, am not the biggest fan of their music, but they do still have some goodies like Minsan, Ligaya, and Magasin.

The reason I put the photo up is to expose some cool parts of Filipino culture that I think would be interesting to know.

Pain, thou art not evil

This quote comes from Alexandre Dumas, writer of novels such as The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo (My favourite novel).

This quote can be applicable to many life experiences. To go through pain and hardship, is to develop as a person. I love this quote. It is the kind I can repeat through times where I feel like giving up. Of course, I do not want to glorify suffering in the name of making myself a better person, because the quote is not so much about endurance, but instead an acknowledgement that pain is an important part of life. It is inevitable, and it is not inherently a terrible thing, If anything, it is a quote of motivation.

Now here’s a cool video:

Wow. Very cool.

This is not a slug, but instead a caterpillar, specifically of the Limacodidae family of moths. They are more commonly known as Cup Moths or the aptly named Slug Moths.

Now here’s a cool image:

WOw. This is a long exposure photo of volcanic lightning, also known as a dirty storm. The question I had when I first saw this was of course, one of its genuineness. Did the creator not just whip out some Adobe Photoshop?

Not really. This is a long exposure photo, meaning that it took multiple photos over the course of, usually, many hours. This particular photo above was taken over 4 hours. Below is a more accurate representation:

I never get tired of these. So cool and so freaking metal.
