Connections with my Classmate’s Webpage:
I thought this person provided very good insight into the topics we discussed in class yesterday, and I wanted to read more of their thoughts on the subject. I believe we both had similar views and shared similar opinions in the discussion yesterday, such as teaching younger children about the topic but only the positive aspects of it rather than the entire death and hatred of the topic. However, as they progress through high school, they will be exposed to more in-depth topics. I also believe that everyone should be exposed to or taught about social justice in order to gain a better understanding of what is going on around us. I was surprised to see that we had almost written down the same things because our perspectives were very similar in terms of believing that the active should involve everyone in participating and talking. As her takeaway point in the last question, she talks about how she understands that some people may be afraid of their children learning social justice because it may change their child’s views, and I really connected with her thoughts on this and even wrote about it in my own paragraph.

My Reflection:
I discovered that she enjoys discussing how she thought before and after hearing new perspectives and opinions on the topic, as well as how they thought and talked about it and how it influenced how she then viewed the topic. I also like to use this to explain my learning and demonstrate how hearing someone else talk about the same things changes your opinion. I believe we both had similar perspectives on the issues we discussed in class and enjoyed hearing different points of view. However, I believe this activity had a greater impact on her viewpoint of the topic than it did on mine. I felt like I had a better understanding of how the people in the class viewed the topics we discussed and how they affect the way we think, and I believe she was more influenced by the different points of view and insights. After reading their webpage, I got the impression that they are very interested in learning about this topic and speak with passion about it, which makes the topics more engaging.
