Independent Novel Study #12
“We need to talk…” continued as dialogue from ‘The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon’
Dad: "We need to talk, Trish. About you. How are you feeling?" Trisha: "Why? I'm feeling better now because of the stuff the doctors gave me." Dad: "No no no, I mean how you feel. Your emotions. I know the forest took a toll on your body but I want to make sure you're feeling happy." Trisha: "I wish I could watch some Red Sox on the TV right now." Dad: "As soon as we're home, okay? We've been here two of the four nights the doctor said we have to stay." Trisha: "Okay. Well, I feel fine. I feel like I'm still there sometimes." Dad: "I'm sorry. I wish I was there for you. You are super duper brave, kid." Trisha: "I know! Can you give me the milk please?" Dad: "Of course."
