This is my first Reflection, I have chosen to reflect on my work in my social studies class.

This is the first piece of work I have decided to reflect on.

This piece of work is a three term poster for my socials class to showing my understanding of the terms. The terms included are revolution, imperialism, and nationalism, with each term there is a simple explanation about the term, there is also an example below the writing. The arrows pointed away from the writing shows an example that 2 terms have in common (there are arrows pointed from both directs to show this). This assignment was completed on October 10th. One of the goals I had during this assignment was to have a detailed explanation of the term with an example and to show my understanding of the term. Another goal I had was to make the poster visually appealing with images and different colors. On this assignment I am most proud of the definition below the term, I am proud of this because I met my goal and made sure that it showed my understanding. The main challenge during this assignment was making sure that when I went to layout the poster that it would be equally spaced out and that the writing was straight. If I did this assignment again in the future I would use different colors to represent each term, and I would do this when I colored the background. I would do this by shading the background of each term a different color and blending it where the terms overlapped. I think that this change would make the poster slightly more visually appealing.

Debate: Personal Opinion

This is the second piece of work I have decided to reflect on (a link),

This piece of work is my personal opinion from my class debate about being a loyalist or patriot. The day of the debate was October 24. The goals I had while preparing this was to make sure that the paragraph “flowed” and also do make sure I included points that would make my statement more convincing. I am proud of how the final product turned out, I like that the paragraph “flows” between points and facts. One of the challenges I faced while writing this was that I was unsure of where to start this paragraph/what the opening statement would be, I overcame this challenge by deciding to start with a brief couple of sentences about the American revolution. If I did this assignment in the future I would add more points and reason as to why I was in support of the patriots.

150 Years From Now. John A. MacDonald

This is the last piece of work I have decided to reflect on (a link)

This piece of work is written response predicting which categories I think will change the most based on a table complete while watching the movie John A. – Birth Of A Country Flim. The table completed during the movies had 6 categories and 2 columns, one of the columns was during the movie and the other was now (2019) and we had to fill them out, them based on the changes between the 2 time periods we had to predict what would have the greatest change in 150 years. This assignment was completed on November 8th. One of the goals I had during the assignment was to have good points and reason as to what the greatest changes were. Another part of my goal was to include examples of changes that I thought would occur. I am proud of being able to complete my goals, I also able to add in examples of changes that would occur and I had valid points for why I thought the 2 categories would change the most ( roles of men and women and transportation). One of the challenges I faced during the assignment was making sure that included examples of what could happen, I found this challenging because I couldn’t for sure know what the changes would be. I overcame this challenge by using giving an educated guess based on the amount of change that occurred from 150 years ago until now. If I could do this again in the future I would add some more details to why I thought I though the examples would occur in the future.
