Linking Assignment One

Website: https://mypinetree.sd43.bc.ca/rexc2020/2023/02/01/whats-in-my-bag/

I chose to partner up with this peer because they are someone I have never had a conversation with or worked together on something before. We exchanged websites and upon opening their link, the first observation I made was that they are a very organized individual and really creative, I love the layout of his website, it is straightforward and not boring. My content and my peers content connect in a few ways, firstly, we use the same webpage format-our Edublog-, we share a similar level of organization with how we laid out our website. We also share some of the same items and questions in our response within the assignment such as the archaeologist question, this was intriguing to read because I got to see a different viewpoint.

My Reflection

  • What ways have they demonstrated their learning on this topic? Is it similar to how you demonstrate your learn? Different? Do you gravitate or align with their presentation of the topic?

From my peers website I can tell they have taken detailed consideration about this course and their webpage looking visually pleasing. My peer has a straightforward set up that allows you to see a featured assignment at the top once you click Comparative Cultures under their grade 11 category category. The assignment itself is shorter than mine but as concise, they did a great job focusing on the main parts of what he carries with him and perfectly responded to the mandatory questions. It was more different than similar, both of our presentations were done on the same website however our formatting and how to get to our assignments looked different. For my peer, it was directly under his comparative cultures class, for me it was in a separate assignments folder. I liked their overall presentation but I also like mine too, I wouldn’t change mine.

  • How was your classmates experience been similar or different from yours? And how do you know?

As far as experience goes, the way I could answer this question would be that my peer and I had a brief conversation about how we completed this assignment. I completed it over a series of days working on it little by little and they completed it all in one go so, I asked them how long he thought it took in total and they provided me with a 2 hours approximate, I would agree that it also took me this long in total. We both agreed this assignments difficulty was very easy and that it was an okay assignment, not too exciting nor too boring.

  • How has their presentation of their assignment change how you view your assignment or your perspective to the topic?

I liked how theirs was well wrapped up work wise, what I mean is next time I may just short my project or if I cannot I would make it easier to read for linking assignments (summaries, images, etc). It was not hard to read, it was just much longer and I now see I could have left some parts out in the description and strengthened my responses for the mandatory questions.
