Linking Assignment 3

Their Website: https://mypinetree.sd43.bc.ca/maham2020/

I chose to partner up with this peer because they are someone who I engage with only in classroom discussions even though we sit at the same table. This way I could get to know them better while also discovering their achievements in this class. To focus on, I chose the Cuneiform Vs Hieroglyphics to compare and contrast. Upon first glance, it was made apparent that they did their two assignments very well, according to the pictures uploaded and they did it somewhat similar to mine.

My Reflection

  • What ways have they demonstrated their learning on this topic? Is it similar to how you demonstrate your learn? Different? Do you gravitate or align with their presentation of the topic?

They have demonstrated their learning through their responses. It is not so similar because I did a paragraph or more in response to the question and they seemed to have stuck to bullet points. Additionally, I uploaded both images together then answered the questions but my peer did it another way. Moreover, we differ in our response. Overall, I do align with their presentation of this topic because it is well organized and gets to the point.

  • How was your classmates experience been similar or different from yours? And how do you know?

My classmates experience has differed from mine because they express different opinions in regards to this topic. For each question hey answered the opposite way I did. This showed me that what I found easy they found difficult and vice versa.

  • How has their presentation of their assignment change how you view your assignment or your perspective to the topic?

The presentation of their assignment was good. I liked it and it was not hard for me to find or follow. It included less words compared to mine but it got straight to the point which I liked and it was fairly easy to read. Since they provided an opposite answer to each question it made me reflect on my viewpoint. For instance; in the second questions response my peers answer to it indicated that they interpreted the question slightly different than mine and that had a huge impact on why we had opposing responses. They mentioned how hieroglyphs are easier to differentiate, which I wholeheartedly agree with, but that does not make them necessarily easier to write. And, considering how much I write and what era we live in cuneiform would be much easier and more alphabet like than any other, making it more suitable to connect to a language than illustrations. I say this because illustrations and literacies are different forms of communication and one is for something else and the other for some else, provided what context.
