As a grade 9 student in Pine tree, I had a great first year experience. I got to make many new friends, learned many new topics, found new interests and hobbies, and got to meet great teachers.
From the 4 different core competencies, this year I would say communication was one of my strongest suit. Many people say that sometimes I can be an extrovert, so when I had to do present my final socials project I had a great time presenting clearly with a good voice. The final project presentation based on nationalism, I had researched all my information, and made q cards to be prepared for the presentation. In the end I felt achieved and proud of my final mark on this presentation.
Next core competency is creativity. Personally I am not a very creative person, but one assignment that I thought I extended my creative thinking was my chemistry booklet in science. The assignment was to make a small booklet on one element on the periodic table, you were to draw a bohr model, history of the element, and what the element uses are. I chose to be creative and color not only the front but the inside and back of my booklet, I also made small patterns and designs along the inside of the booklet.
After creativity is positive personal and cultural identity. Although, I believe that I have been performing a positive attitude towards my classmates and teachers throughout the whole year, one class that I thought I showed my positive awareness and social responsibility was my grade 9 fitness class. I always came with a positive mindset, and made a new goal for every class. I excelled on my goal for the term, which was to work on my biceps and triceps, I would do specific workouts in the weight room to work on my arm. Another way I showed social awareness during this class, I would wipe down the machine I was using in the workout room, I would also try help with setting up new activities in the gym with my classmates. My teacher also recommended that I take fitness 10 as for next year.
My Goal for Next Term
Overall I had a great year at pine tree, I made new friends, and new hobbies that interest me for the future. One thing I would like to achieve for next year, is to try hardest to improve to my grades for subjects that aren’t my strong suit, for example math or science. Although my grades aren’t terrible for these subject, I would still like to improve my learning for these subjects, because they are quite important subjects in school.
