For the 2024 spirit assembly on September 18, in leadership, I was one of the point people for Hype crew and it was fun telling people in the crew what to do for the assembly and help people if they needed instructions or with anything else not only people in hype crew but also people in general as well as engaging with the crowd during the assembly by cheering and uplifting people and handing out candy. The energy was positive and I could tell that majority of people were having fun and creating memories. During the whole process of the assembly and the actual assembly, I stuck with one curricular competency, it was the principles of leadership and teamwork, identifying and understanding what it means to be a leader and observing the positive and negative aspects of it. I understand that being a leader is to guide others and empower others. One example I could think of is during the assembly, there was some confusion of picking people from the crowd to participate in games and a bit of an argument but I discussed that only two people from the crew should pick the people for each game and settle the dispute and after that there was no confusion and the assembly went smoothly. I also made sure everyone was on task and doing what they were assigned to do by asking them if they need help and encouraging them and I’m glad everyone was on task. Overall, the assembly was a success!
