INS 7, Draw a Picture and Explain Connection

Independent Novel Study Assignment #7

A drawing and explanation of connection to ‘The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon’…

Here I have drawn one common depiction of a Wendigo. In the last few pages of 'The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon', there is a general description on what is known as a "Wendigo". This creature lurks around the forest Trisha was lost in, as she called it "The God of the Lost". After finding a road, she finally has a physical encounter with the Wendigo. A man later came and shot the beast with a convenient rifle, saving Trisha and bringing her home.

After doing some research, I found that the mythical creature has origins in Indigenous folklore and has many recreations in media. Stephen King is known for having multiple novels with the Wendigo as the main antagonist. Some video games portray them as human-like, while many artists choose to draw them as boney, moose-like creatures.
