INS 14, A Question or Questions I Have

Independent Novel Study Assignment #15

Questions to ask regarding ‘The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon’…

How did Trisha really survive the 9 days?
This question should have been one to be answered by the book as it is a large part of the story. Although the book goes on about Trisha's diet, I still feel like there is some sort of food she must have been eating that kept her alive for over a week. The berry mix she had eaten was only good for a day or two, quickly rotting. Otherwise, there was barely any implication as to what she had been eating. A raw, unknown species of fish likely did not keep her alive the entire time. Malnutrition causes much worse symptoms than described by King. Fainting, seizures, all while edging death, especially when the victim of a week-long fast is a growing 9-year-old.
