• What form of writing (hieroglyphs or cuneiform) did you find more challenging to complete? Describe why it was harder?
  • I found that the Cuneiform was more challenging to complete because of its complexity. In cuneiform each character is made up of a series of lines and triangles, which can make it harder to read when there is lots of information at once or even just when reading in general. On the other hand, in hieroglyphs each character represents a singular letter which makes it much easier to read and write.
  • If you could choose one form of writing (cuneiform or hieroglyphs), which would it be?  From your choice, what reasons can you give to help the reader understand why you made that choice.
  • If I could choose one form of writing, I would choose to use hieroglyphics because of the convenience. To the average reader, hieroglyphics would be much easier to translate because of its unique yet simple characters. Cuneiform on the other hand will be much harder to translate because each character translates to a combination of letters rather than a single one. This means many words cannot be written in this form, and can only be roughly translated. Another reason is that in cuneiform, even a short sentence will be drastically stretched out due to the complexity of language structure.
