The first leadership event in which I volunteered was the first one available to all leadership students, the new international and non-international Students Tours. This event occurred a week before school began, and I found it a smooth and fun way to start the new school year. By meeting new students from across the world and coast to coast of Canada, I familiarized myself with the new school environment and atmosphere and gained a small glimpse of the new school year. My two partners and I were grouped up with about twenty new students and were given the task to guide them around locations throughout the school. My partners and I also made sure to touch on our personal favourite things around the school, such as the library, and the art on the walls. I believe we were informative guides as we showed the students all the departments providing a little of our own descriptions, and also promoted the school at the same time Overall, I mark this event as a memorable one as I enjoyed meeting several new students.
