Compare how you are doing at this MID-WAY point compared to the BEGINNING. What goals were you working on and how successful have you been?

At the beginning, I had questioned whether I made the right choice to join leadership because I was so shy and self-conscious. However, I knew I joined because I wanted to accomplish my goal of being confident in speaking to anyone in a professional setting and for my personal life. Needless to say, who I am now compared to who I was before has drastically changed. For instance, in our first feedback meeting, I was too afraid to share what I thought went well or what I thought could be improved because everyone was saying similar ideas already. Contrary, in the recents feedback meetings I am able to openly give compliments on what I saw worked amazing, as well as provide constructive criticism, which made me feel even more involved in events. Another advancement I made is my connections at school, especially between other students. At first, I only talked to my friends and I did not feel very connected to the teachers, which led to me not being proactive enough. However, by using the communication skills I gained from participating in events, i have made so many new friends not just in leadership, but in other classes too. Additionally, I have become comfortable with not only asking teachers for help, but sharing small talk about universities, adulthood, and life advice. I appreciate this new connection I have gained with some of my teachers because the advice they have given me is something I know I will carry on with the rest of my left, and I would not have been able to talk to them without the confidence leadership has gifted me. Compared to the beginning of the year, I have become more confident in myself and the value I can provide to my teammates and events.
